In my experience an important part of my daily advance in Masonic knowledge has come from having read some very old titles that have not been in print for between 50 and 100 years.I'm sometimes concerned that many newer Brethren may get caught up by some of the newer, more sensationalist titles regarding the Craft, without the wherewithall to actually read the source material than many of them are based on. This is an important factor as often, reading the original shows, that the new use is very different from the original.
There is an internet based book buying website called the Advanced Book Exchange (ABE) which links together second-hand book sellers from all around the world. I have had an account at
www.abebooks.co.uk
for about 5 years now and it has proven invaluable in tracking down what would otherwise have been rare titles from all around the country and the US. Often I have got them cheaper in their original hardback than you can buy horrible yellow reproductions from Kessinger Print.
So my advice, if you want to do some serious Masonic reading is to set yourself up an account at abebooks and start searching and buying, you'll also be amazed at how cheap it actually is buying titles from both the US and AUS this way.

Try Kessinger Publishers
http://www.kessinger.net/index.php
They do digital reprints of many out of print books.
I have purchased such books as:
Pritchard's Masonry Dissected
Carlile's Manual of Freemasonry
Anderson's Constitutions 1723 and 1738
Gould's Concise History of Freemasonry
Preston's Illustrations of Masonry
and several others.
They are presented in A4 size format, most have yellow covers, and are fairly cheap. They use Amazon as their distributors
Give them a go

Unfortunately that link is not working.
Its always worth trying a search via Amazon as often somebody other than Amazon has some very interesting titles listed.

There is also a source called "Ranald MacDonald" (no that is not a typo). I got my copy of
"Christian by Degrees"
Walton Hannah's companion volume to
"Darkness Visible
but on the Higher Degrees from him.

I've deleted the later additions to this topic as the posters may not have noticed that it is specifically about actual books not on on-line reading!

With some judicious searching, it is possible to find some of these older books, either scanned and collated into PDFs or transcribed. They can then be printed and bound at one's leisure and expense.
Be cautious not to violate any copyright that may persist in some works.
