We should be OK until 2015 then!

Thank goodness for our GL library to keep the old brain cells churning.

Don't take the number of violent deaths too seriously - it's only a story! :D

Absolutely Roy.  In fact, a comment on the number of deaths was even built in to one of the episodes:

Scott: I never realized archaeology was such a dangerous business. Is the body count always this high around here, sir?
Barnaby: It has been remarked upon.

Apologies for dragging this programme up again, but it's being repeated on ITV1.  Since I didn't watch it all before, I'm glad of another chance - maybe some other tfm members will be too.

The first half was shown at 1600 on Friday (and I regret it still isn't possible to catch it up via the internet), but the second and final episode is at the same time on Monday coming (26 July).

It's quite worth watching for the howlers, like of course the "Masonic Dagger" (where's mine?  I never got one); the definitely funny handshake the WM gave the Sergeant* (tickle my hand like that, Petal, and you'll have to marry me!); and the Tyler in full regalia  (only a MM, but so what), while barring entry by a character to a non-Open Lodge Room containing the WM, also in full regalia, who was apparently rehearsing the Third Degree.  He had the book open, and still got the words wrong (that lovely "Taggart" bit in the Obl) but as it was a red book, maybe Taylors don't use so many words? - perish the thought!  Oh, there's endless fun to be had! :hehe:

*  DS Jones confessed to Barnaby that he had at one time been a Mason (which will now alllow him to infiltrate the Lodge), as he thought it might accelerate his promotion.  Significantly, he did not keep up his membership: perhaps he discovered it didn't bestow instant advancement (and he's still only a DS!)

Anyway, to remind you again, it's on Monday afternoon - ITV1.

The episode appears to be available on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQJK-RnOzoo

Whether it legally should be is a whole other kettle of fish! And I still feel short-changed never been given my own dagger after my initiation. Also they certainly make sure the candidate's properly hoodwinked!
