Gents,
Looking for some recommendations on Masonic reading. Basically if you could only read or recommend one book about the Craft, what would it be? Ideally the name of the book, author's name and why you think every brother should read it.
Hopefully this is the right place for the thread but if not then please accept my apologies.

Thanks Mike. I've read a lot of your reviews (all very good) but anything that gets a 7 or above makes me want to get the book! I was also hoping all contributors would put up their choice of "must read" for Masons.
I'm going to buy the book you've just recommended, many thanks.

That is really the obvious choice for a one book library! Next to that I think I would put Harry Carr's The Freemason at Work. However, for real value in reading and involvement, I would heartily recommend joining the Quatuor Coronati Correspondence Circle. You will receive the annual book containing all the papers delivered during the year, papers sent in for publication, Q & A section etc. Further, if you are able to attend the QC Lodge meetings, then you get to meet the writers of the books and papers and to discuss subjects with them.

Mike - any idea the best place to buy your recommendation? Amazon the only online place but I hate using them.
Trouillogan - many thanks. I'll check that book out too. Re the QC; I'm applying for membership of the correspondence list (would love to attend meetings too) but the form says I need my lodge master or secretary to sign the form. Given I'm in London and they're in Scotland this could take some time. I've emailed the QC to see if they can waive this requirement and am awaiting a reply.
