Hi all,

I was looking for some info about the GL of Spain and came across the following web site
http://glsei.org/index.html

Anyone has any additional info (the "history" page is pretty short)?
(from the list of Grand Officers it would appear a large number of them are expats)

Best Regards

You need to be cautious when dealing with Freemasonry on mainland Europe as many countries have multiple Grand Lodges. These Grand Lodges are not all practising the same form of Freemasonry as your own Grand Lodge. This, of course, is why we have a procedure of contacting foreign GLs through our own Grand Secretary.

For example if you were a member of a Lodge under the UGLE you would be treading dangerous waters as that is NOT the Grand Lodge of Spain that recognised by the UGLE. The Grand Lodge we recognise is here: http://www.gle.org/

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the pointer; when I came across the site, it did sound strange so I checked with my year book and the name didn't appear anywhere.
I was simply hoping someone would provide some background info, if possible.

I did type out a reply to this but thought better of it.

I have PM'd you.

Short answer is that they are clandestine and irregular.
