As some of you already know, Brother Chris Carlson was recently injured in the line of duty. He is currently at Oakwood hospital in Dearborn recovering from his injuries, which are extensive. I spoke with him today and he just got out of the ICU. He is being told that he will probably have to spend two or three weeks in the hospital. I asked if he or his family needed anything. Chris said that they were doing fine, but would let Todd or I know if anything changes.
He is accepting visitors now.

Chris Carlson, who , as a Wayne County Deputy, was seriously injured in the line of duty, by a fleeing criminal. Chris suffered broken ribs, a collapsed lung and a broken leg. He has just been released from the hospital. The Wayne County Prosecutor said the incident was one of the most “egregious” acts she has ever seen. Chris has a young family to support and has long rehabilitation ahead of him.

Thanks to the effort of a lot of different people. Dennis and I presented to Chris and his wife checks and money in the total of $12,231.00 last night. This is just simple outstanding Brothers!!! The dinning room in our Masonic Temple seats 250, we had tents setup in back of the building for overflow. We had over 400 show up along with local TV News & Reporters.
After working the fundraiser last night, I feel proud to be a mason and a member of this lodge.
