I'm about a 3rd of the way through the Masonic Magician by Philippa Faulks and Robert Cooper. Count Cagliostro magician, charleton, conman or soothsayer? what is the truth about this man and the Egyptian Rite?It seems to me that he lived the most extraordinary life in dangerous times and paid the ultimate price for his beliefs.;)

He was a very interesting and flamboyant man.

The fact is we will never know for sure his involvement in the Egyptian rite as among other things he was a liar and a conman!

Apparently...

He may well have been instrumental in this, however on a personal note I would question how close anyone with his reputation may have been to any true mysteries.

He will always remain one of histories enigmas!

I liked the book,

I have been reading 3 books since my initiation on Monday
Albert Pike's Morals and Dogma
Albert Pike's The Book of the Words
Robert Lomas's Secret Science of Masonic Initiation (under the tracing boards in Masons Hall Belfast the book is quoted)

All the best Brethern

I really love this book! I must have read it on numerous occasions now. Was he all he cliamed to be? perhaps not but definatly a very interesting man and a shining light in them most interesting times. Those who killed him and sullied his name forever owe him and freemasonry an apology.
