This certainly is possible - in our Co-Masonic Order we have what is called Triangles In the USA - These are Lodges that work with just a very few people - until they grow in their region.
I will find out more about them.
I am sure if you could gather just another couple of people of like mind something good can be made to happen.

I contacted the American chapter of LDH, who refered me to the Canadian chapter, who informed me that there was no LDH lodge in BC and I would have to go across the border to Seattle WA, which is out of the question.However, I wouldn't overly worry. As I said in closing the original topic it had run its course with no input for several months.

BC (British Columbia)? I take it. If you live in Vancouver metro area or closer you can become a Co-Masonic member in Seattle with the American Federation of Human Rights. You would have to travel out to attend meetings, but we do have a co-masonic lodge in that region, par se. If you have a car, boat, train, plane you can travel. We have members travel from Kansas City to Tulsa and Dallas to Tulsa for meetings, 4 to 7 hour drives.

The situation of not being able to travel distances is a problem for some.
Unfortunately as things stand now that is nearly always the case. Even the Eastern Order with which I understand we have amity require some attendance in a physical lodge for functions and ceremonies for their Pilgrim's lodge.
I would say it is more usual to travel by land several hours to get to a point for meetings. I enjoy the drive.

This topic is dead but I am going to stick my two pennies in anyway :P
Despite peoples admonishment with Freemasonry being called a hobby. It certainly isn't a business. It is a fraternal organisation in which 99.999% of the membership is unpaid for their work.
Unlike say, a mobile phone company, we do not have roll out plans where we aim to cover 97% of the country. We simply do not guarantee to be in your area.
I live in Lanzarote. After Franco had his way there was no Freemasonry in Lanzarote until it was kicked off about 15 years ago by the hard and unpaid work of expats living on the island. 10 years ago this November the same hard working, unpaid expats started a Chapter and last year we started a Mark.
In a minute I am flying to Tenerife to join OSM with some others in the hope of getting it off the ground here. I should be in mainland Spain for Allied next week but we have our Ladies night so I will miss that.
I could sit here and complain that there is no SRIA in Lanzarote. I could poo poo anyone's suggestion of how I could get it off the ground. I would by doing that get no where, just like Anonwife.
So I get on a plane and fly to the UK for it...
Freemasonry is available in Anonwifes area. She just has to start it...
