Although this lies very far ahead of me on my Masonic path, I have been wondering about the so called "Sydney Ritual" used in some of Le Droit Humain's workings of HRA. According to the British LDH website, this working is "not based on a documentary historical past", and I found another site saying that is was very different from the "normal" HRA workings used by UGLE etcetera. Without giving anything away, can somebody clarify this a bit? Is it still essentially "the same degree", so to speak?

As I said, I am of course a very long way from HRA, but my historical interest in Masonry (which runs back many years) still makes me curious. And please move this thread if it's in the wrong location.

/ Bro. Ola

LDH does tend to have more than one Ritual and as I found in our Mark, we have one the Keystone Ritual which is quite close to the Malecraft Ceremony but another which is more "Spiritual" . Rose Croix in LDH is the same in this regard as is HRA. I will, hopefully if I can make it, be attending an HRA Exaltation on Thursday this week at Hexagon House , Surbiton so will be able to compare and contrast this with the Malecraft Domatic and Aldersgate HRA Rituals I already have experienced in the past.

I don't know if your LDH Federation works like mine here in the UK, but we have a time scale to progress from EA to MM, then there is a further period , I think 1 year, Bro Cora could confirm, before one can be Advanced into Mark which is necessary in our system before after another designated period one can be Exalted into HRA, so you have plenty of time.

 Hearty Good Wishes Bro Ola.

Yes, of course, there's a long way and plenty of time ahead :) It's just my "history of esotericism"-gene that makes me interested in the differences and similarities. If you do witness the exaltation and feel you can say anything about the relationship between the versions, it would be highly interesting - if you can't, I fully understand :) . Concerning the time scale, it seems to be the same in the Scandinavian Federation: the way from EA to MM is said to take an average of about 3 years, and then it goes on in the manner you described.

all the best,
Bro. Ola

Bro Ola, as far as my Obligations permit I will be happy to discuss, possibly by PM if not on Open Forum.

Thank you! Of course, I do not want any details - I am not trying to find out contents of degrees that are "ahead of me".

Ola,
When people start putting names to Rituals I am at a disadvantage - we have to my knowledge had one HRA Ritual since the beginning though it may have been revised a few times . Our Order did belong to LDH until a few years ago, when we left LDH and became part of the Eastern Order of International Co-Freemasonry - even though we changed Head Offices our ritual has never changed.
Having said that the HRA is a most beautiful degree and OLA when the time and opportunity comes along do join it -
