Greetings,

Is this spell of cold weather disrupting any of your meetings?

We had the William Cobbett Demonstration team at our meeting on Tuesday. We had 82 people booked in plus the Team.

Four of the W.C team did not make it - they turned back at Basingstoke I think. There were a further dozen guests did not get there and a few of our own members. Six people who were booked in for dining left immediately after the meeting and did not stay for the F.B. and then another 30 or so left as soon as the food was finished. By the time we got to the toasts & the speeches there were only 20 of us left.

Although it was still an excellent meeting, there is no doubt it was badly disrupted.

Has anyone had to cancel meetings, Has anyone had to sleep in the temple (or lodge room) overnight?

Stephen

So far had to cancel an Officers Rehearsal and an LoI for my Craft lodge, an official visit I was due to attend this week in Winchester was cancelled as was a rehearsal for Rose Croix, and I'm waiting to hear about a meeting on Monday at Godalming.

The car park at Farnborough Masonic Centre is under 6-8" of snow and the centre is effectivle shut because of that.

Not affected me yet as it is still T shirt and short's weather here!

However it is our Mark Dist meeting in Benidorm tommorow and we are setting off for that this afternoon.

Hopefully we will be OK as last year everyone got stuck in Madrid. Luckily I missed last years meeting ;)

Fingers crossed we make it OK...

Apart from National Council in Surbiton on Monday 18th, by which time I hope the snow will be cleared, fortunately I have nothing now till 30th Jan at Camberley. I haven't heard that any of our Meetings have been cancelled but I would feel that some people will not have been able to attend owing to the weather conditions prevailing.

So how cold is it to be tonight? This evening I'm heading out to a lodge meeting (business meeting) with lows dropping to 7° F, Yesterday through last night we got only 5 inches of snow. City has already plowed the streets. i don't shovel the white stuff, good thing for showblowers. Come Monday we get a heatwave it go up to 33° F. :D
