Hi Cuthbert

If you would like to see the HRA with all the original ritual including penalties and The Explanation of the Mystical lecture in its pure form then you can always visit Jeanne d'arc Chapter in Rouen, under The GLNF which still uses all off the ritual. The Chapter mets in March and may for ceremonial work and Sept for Installation.

The original Mystical lecture is in my opinion one of the most beautiful and important lectures in Freemasonry

Thank you Chris, it would be great to visit that chapter, but do they have the ritual in english? Sometimes I visit a GLNF lodge in Menton, not exactly close to Rouen and they're a AASR, so they didn't know anything about Royal Arch....

Definitely worth of investigating, anyway.

I think that the HRA is truly A completion of the 3rd degree.

I say a completion and not the completion because I feel that it adds another facet to the 3rd and to say that the 3rd needs completion would be amiss.

I believe that taken together the 3rd represents the fall of man and the HRA shows his path to reintegration.

johndee

Some of the peculiarities of Masonic organisation may have occurred because there was another group behind the scenes with authoritative knowledge.

Recall that the new 3rd degree was suddenly and almost universally adopted as an ancient landmark.
