Hello all - just thought I would end this stream by updating you that I have decided to join the "Mark" and will be joining in May. The book recommended at the start of this thread is unbelievably useful and I would recommend it to all Brethren :)

Congratulations on the continuation of your journey!

I am delighted to read that you are to be Advanced into Mark in May of this year. ENJOY! It is a very friendly and enjoyable Degree and has a very important moral lesson to impart.

The first Order I joined outside the Craft was Rose Croix (AASR, Ancient and Accepted Rite etc.) and it remains the one that I have kept on in preference to all the others - including Royal Arch!

Viewed this post and it got me thinking as I'm very interested in Rose Croix for various reasons. However, I have been informed by various members of my lodge that I would have to be a member of the Royal Arch first. I was under the impression from what I had read that the only prerequisite was to have been a master mason for a whole year and be of the christian faith.

Can anyone clarify this matter for me as Rose Croix really appeals and I could only justify time for one extra order with my first family addition on its way.

Yes, you are quite correct. By the way, it has nothing at all to do with UGLE. Rose Croix is governed by The Supreme Council 33° of the Ancient and Accepted Rite for England, Wales and its Districts and Chapters Overseas (good thing we have a short name for it!) from 10 Duke Steet, St James, London and it sets the qualifications, no one else.
