I know that the UGLE do not recognise either Feminine or Co Freemasonry, however, I do know that here in the East Kent Province certainly some Womens and Mens groups happily co-exisit in the same building with each others blessings, albeit their meetings are on separate nights. Therefore, do Feminine or Co Grand Lodges recognise UGLE? For example, I remember a good friend of mine who had been a PM in the Grand Lodge Of the Orient, on joining a Lodge constituted under the English Constitution, had to begin his whole Masonic career again, starting as EA. Is that the case in all jurisdictions?

Mike, I can do not better than to give you this straight from our UK Website.
______________________________________________________________________
WHAT IS YOUR POLICY REGARDING OTHER MASONIC ORDERS?
International Co-Freemasonry, Le Droit Humain, recognises the following Masonic Orders in Britain:
United Grand Lodge of England
The Grand Lodge of Scotland
The Grand Lodge of Ireland
The Order of Women Freemasons
The Honourable Fraternity of Ancient Freemasons
The Ancient Order of Freemasonry for Men and Women
It does not follow that these Orders recognise International Co-Freemasonry, for some do not.
International Co-Freemasonry, Le Droit Humain has fraternal relations with:
Grande Loge de France
Grande Loge Feminine de France
Grand Orient de France
"Fraternal relations" mean that members are free to visit lodges of the other Orders

Thanks Guys! Why dos it not surprise me that questions and queries are answered almost immediately on this site! I honestly believe the majority of Freemasons would benefit greatly from forum membership and it might even go some way to clearing up much of the misunderstanding which is so evident.

Very true Mike. I have learned a tremendous amount from this and other such Masonic Fora and usually in greater depth than one would obtain merely from accessing Official Websites. Misconceptions have been corrected and alternative explanations obtained which have broadened my knowledge.

Mike Lawrence (24/10/2009)
For example, I remember a good friend of mine who had been a PM in the Grand Lodge Of the Orient, on joining a Lodge constituted under the English Constitution, had to begin his whole Masonic career again, starting as EA. Is that the case in all jurisdictions? No. When I was accepted into Lodge Mercury No.706 on the register of Le Droit Humain,British Federation having resigned from an unrecognised Order,I underwent a ceremony of regularisation retaining my MM status. That may have been discretionary however,so don't quote me on it.;)

I would like to add to this discussion that whilst recognition dictates which Lodges we may or may not attend, outside of Lodge it is on a much more personal basis.Yesterday my wife and I had a wonderful lazy lunch with a UGLE Mason and his wife who has just done 2 years in the chair of her Lodge (OWF). We enjoyed both their company and I found the Masonic bond to be equally strong with the lady Mason as her husband. It was fantastic to hear how they enjoyed their Masonry together and how the UGLE and OWF Lodges supported each other socially.

Hi dpLikewise, I spent Saturday night with several Lady Freemasons at a social evening to raise money for the East Kent 2014 festival.
