What is all this stuff being posted all over the internet about the sun alignment with our galaxy centre in 2012 and armageddon??
is it just to promote a movie or somthing....sorry, I am just totally ignorant of this kind of thing! So does anyone know what WILL happen? I know the Mayan calender ends on 21-12-12 at 11:11am, but this end of the world thing is a wee bit over my head!
Any explanations, lovely people!?

emmm....just what I was thinking realy. The bug that never happened. ;)
I have been off the internet for about a month so I have only just found this, and to the unenlightened (of which I think there are very few) all these tales of the end of the world could be quite alarming! and there is even a movie about it....thats why I just thought it was a movie promotion.
But I have a deep interest in astronomy and pricked up my ears to this one!

The Olympics being held in England are due to cause the end of the world.
Thanks for this information, though it has really put me in a bad mood. Why the hell are Londoners like you and I Mike, paying more money out, for what will simply be the end of the world. It is just not on.

Does this take into account the switch from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar?

...has anybody considered that it might be a masonic conspiracy for total world domination? We haven't had a new theory for at least six months, and those mayans and aztecs had all manner of masonic symbols carved around some of their temple doorways and what about those who believed that Quetzalcoatl was a representation of Jesus and will come again. 2012 sounds just about right!...........but don't hold your breath forumites!
