Especially with the Americans all dressed up for a 3rd Degree,

Are those costumes for real?

AFAIK yes. But bear in mind in Freemasonry in the UK, the Three Principals in HRA wear robes, there are the costumes of KTs, KMs and KTPs. In some versions of Rose Croix as well as Collars, Aprons and Swords a Cloak is worn, in SRIA the Adepts wear coloured gowns and skull caps and the Celebrant also wears a gown, in some of the Allied Degrees costumes are worn. Personally, I like the costumes our US Brethren wear at their Ceremonies.

...the way they tried to pin the hanging of the guy who was known as 'god's banker' on the freemasons was atrocious. They justified it by saying theat blackfriars bridge is near the masonic hall and that he had bricks in his pockets and that links him to the freemasons... Ridiculous!!

Exactly what I said to my girlfriend before I turned off the program. Welcome to the forum by the way! :)

Strength of manhood and beauty of spirit need combination. Masonry thus needs strength with gracefulness, stability with courtesy, and firmness with gentleness.

1) It could be that whoever killed Calvi deliberately chose Blackfriars Bridge given its name and the religious association therewith.

2) P2 was not what most Masons would accept as a Masonic Lodge.

3) Hardly a refutation nor a confirmation. Whoever hanged Calvi's body from the bridge used two bricks to signify and symbolise stone, no doubt to give a "Masonic" flavour to this murder.

It is very likely that Organised Crime were behind the Calvi murder. They had the resources and the experience to perpetrate it and the wish to send a serious and public warning to anyone who crossed them or lost their money .

Unfortunately, Freemasonry is an easy target for journalists etc to blame. Now doubt if some thug stabbed someone with a pair of compasses someone would try to put Freemasonry in the frame.

Ever since I first read about Bob Calvi's murder I have always felt that it was likely done by some religiously inclined persons. After all he was in London because he had absconded to England having been in Court (very publically) for ripping off the Vatican.

Did anyone else notice the "REAL MASONS" performing the third degree in the santa costumes the candidate was wearing a EA apron not a FC apron.  Hmmm seems to me that "REAL MASONS" wouldnt make a mistake like that.
