Dear Brothers / Companions / Princes

When I visited the museum in Canterbury they had a fantastic collection of 18th Degree breast jewels which were absolutely stunning.  I am assuming these are extremely rare but does anyone know where you might go about finding one? I have seen none advertised online!

I am not in Rose Croix so I am not sure exactly what you are looking for.

I read you post and googled Rose Croix 18th breast jewel and came up with dozens of listings.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for though.

Dear Brother

Unfortunately these are PMWS Presentation Breast jewels.  The ones I saw in the museum seemed to be for all Companions to wear (rather like our Breast Jewels in HRA).

Im guessing they are from a bygone era! :)

P.S Why do I keep getting a message saying "you must provide some message content?"

I can't say that I have seen a Rose Croix Breast Jewel, apart from the PMWS one shown. However what is really beautiful is the Rose Croix Apron and the Sword and Belt. We wear those as well as the Collar.

If and when I join Rose Croix (time and finances permitting!) i've an 18deg apron & sash waiting in my Fathers care, shame UGLE don't wear the aprons any more though :(

A small technical point here.

A & AR or Rose Croix is not practised under the banner of UGLE, as it is not recognised as pure antient masonry, however many of the GL Officers patronise the degree.

Dear Bro Mike,

I have to agree here .  Rose Croix in England is known fully as:

"The Ancient and Accepted Rite for England and Wales and its Districts and Chapters Overseas" and is an Independent body to UGLE.

In England, Rose Croix takes the first three degrees of the Craft to be the same as its first three degrees but the two organisations are seperate despite having links (membership requirements and Partrons etc)

In England in LDH we view A&ASR of which the Rose Croix Degree is the 18th as an Initiatic Continuity from 1st to 33rd Degrees with it and Craft being the Scottish Rite, so Rose Croix is inclusive in our system.

Hi Lauderdale,

Apologies when I said in England I meant under UGLE as the poster seemed to think Rose Croix was the same as UGLE.

So is the LDH system the same as the US? Where you choose York or AASR?

Bro Jon, thanks for that link, I will read it with pleasure.

Bro Mark, in LDH one can be a member of both Scottish and York Rite if one wishes. For example I am in A&ASR by virtue of my being in Craft and Rose Croix, my York Rite affiliations are in KTs, and Royal Order of Scotland.

Can someone clarify for me, in US Freemasonry does one have to make a choice of Scottish OR York Rite or can a Brother be in both?
