As you're probably aware the new UGLE site's gone live at last! I think they've done an excellent job, what do you think?

Visually, it looks like a brochure for a luxury hotel, like Stoke Place in Buckinghamshire or Lucknam Park in Wiltshire.

Not had a chance to really scrutinize the website, but the presentation is very slick and professional. Doesn't read like it's a centre for learning though, more like an unaccessible exclusive club. Not seen much evidence of contemplation, deep thought or hidden meaning.

I love the page giving credit to it's usage in contempary films and availibility as a film locations.:P

Very impressive, well contructed, easy to navigate and informative.  I doff my cap to those who designed and built it, a superstructure perfect in its parts and honourable to the builders.

A very good piece of Web design and strongly needed as the old look site had dated over the years.

However, the project is not yet complete, there is more information and more pages still to be uploaded and mapped.

I spent 45 min. last nite going through it. I like it, has alot of information and well presented. There were two videos that did repeat under two topics, yet seeing that it is a new site I'm sure that video and subjects will be added and up-dated in time.
Over all I think many Grand Lodges should have a look and maybe modle their sites some what like this one.

I think the site is wonderfull. Even more so now I hear there is more to go onto it.

I also really like the new booklet "Are you thinking of becoming a Freemason" http://www.ugle.org.uk/how-to-become-a-mason/ which I have already downloaded, saved and sent on to a candidate!

Only slightly negative thing for me is I am not to keen on the new logo. But that is subjective anyway.

I also think the new UGLE site is first class.

i would like to see links to the Provincial and MetGL web sites.

But that is being picky and may come in time anyway as it is developed.

It's ok, I wouldn't 'gush' as some have done. I prefer a top drop down menu rather than the side. (which is too big) The main pictures don't frame at the top so I'm constantly trying to scroll up to get to the top of the page.

It's obviously not finished as you can see bold text which I presume will link on at a latter date.

An ok effort needs to be better balanced.

Are we to be told how much money was spent on this btw?

Personally I have no problem with the layout. As for the photo/s found on the web site some of the custom cropping are a little to tightly cropped for my liking. Never the less they are good shots.

I'm sure it will be detailed in the full end of year accounts if one wanted to seek it out badly enough.

I think it is a good site, and a very positive step forward - websites need to be redeveloped regularly to take account of changes in browsers, interoperability, changing legislation, etc, so money well spent in my opinion, as long as it was VFM
