Hi lads and lasses,
has anyone received an email from google groups saying they have been added to a group called "Brother R. James Truthseekers duscusion group"?

This is what was in the subject line of the email I received:-

Google Groups: You've been added to R. James "TruthSeekers" Discussion

I got it in my email today even though I have not ever heard of it before and certainly did not subscribe to it. It claims to be a discussion group with regard to Zionism, Illuminati, Occultism etc. My first thought was to click the link which claims to unsubscribe me from the group, but being a suspicious sort, I thought this could be a virus or a trojan or whatever.

If you get it in your email, I'd recommend just marking it as SPAM and then delete it and to click NOTHING in the email. you never know WHAT you may end up with.

The reason I've written this here is because this is the ONLY site where I go where these sort of subjects are discussed. These loonies can harvest email adddresses easily from here.

Tony.

Just to clarify.

As with the old forum software it is not possible to harvest members' email addresses from here. This is due to the fact that you can't send an email direct to another member, the email goes via the user ID and the site servers. Only the recipient knows who has contacted them and it is clearly identified as originating from this site.

The only way would be if you sent an email to every member AND they replied to you direct.

I'd say check which email address and how they addressed you, then google the email address and see if it can be found on the Net and therefore by a bot.
