Good stuff. No doubt your choice of online moniker is a reflection of that. Azaziel the Fallen, by any chance? Very dark. Will be back later, keep reading.

Azaziel (19/08/2009) With regards to God:
I see god as like the Architect in the Matrix Movies (pretty low-end reference but..) a being that can see our infinite possibilities -
Sometimes I see God as a woman as well a creator in infinite wonder at her creation and her children.
Sometimes I see God in the reflection of nature
And Sometimes I see God in the reflection of technology
But mostly ...well mostly I don't have a clue
God seems both outer and inner - out "there" (pointing up) and in "here"(pointing to my chest)
The image and the reflection
I suppose That's why I am allegedly "wasting money" on a Theology Degree.
Well, God conversations don't normally go down well but, I see God as all, within all, without all. That is why I feel we percieve the nature of God differently in different situations. It depends on what state of mind (frequency) we are on at the time...

I watched a really good program about God and how five religious leaders inteprete their belief in him on channel 4's 4oD internet catch-up program. It is called Revelations. Well worth a watch.
p.s. Azaziel, I have read all the Preachers. I forgot to mention Ennis, he is also one of the best writers ever. :smooooth:
p.p.s. Black and White was also a great concept. Similarly, I used to love Populous and Command and Conquer but to be honest, I really think that computer games are a waste of time now. I had to give them up because I wasn't doing everything more worthwhile with my time.
Strength of manhood and beauty of spirit need combination. Masonry thus needs strength with gracefulness, stability with courtesy, and firmness with gentleness.

Excellent but I would also recommend Ennis's 'Just a pilgrim'. A theology student should enjoy that. Mad Max meets christianity, meets Clint Eastwood :hehe:

So, Azaziel, trying to get back into a "masonic" discussion (acknowledging that some of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" was filmed in Freemasons Hall, Great Queen Street) which of the Watchmen do you think you are, and do you think Freemasonry will change you into one of the others? And which one would that transformation be?Also in terms of altruism versus personal wishes, which of the Gentlemen is most like your idea of what a freemason should be? I am fully aware that you have no or little idea of what Freemasonry is about yet, but humour me, your honest answers will be very revealing. ps: which Grand Lodge have you applied to?

I suppose out of the watchmen I would be Nite Owl (and not just because I would get the girl at the end of the film!) quite naive believing in a sense of right and wrong, but never really committing to definite action (like Rorschach or The Comedian).
And since I love Dr Manhattan (even though he has naturalist tendencies!) I would like to say that Masonry would give me a wider perspective - make me a fuller person.

I suppose Allan Quatermain would be my idea of a Freemason in the League - although Captain Nemo would fit the profile as well...
Nemo is more altruistic and inventive, but Quatermain is an adventurer and has experience under his belt.
But also the Invisible Man is secretive and no one knows if they can trust him or not...
Those were some interesting Questions M.

Just finished reading all the preacher comics, some interesting themes
- a very gnostic view of the GAOTU, and a possible tie-in with the missing "word" of masonry and the "word" that Jessie Custer inherits.
