Been missing for a few days and i bet none of you noticed, i managed to break my ankle at the weekend whilst out walking the dog(sober as well), so it is now pinned and plated but i am back looking for some good topics to keep me going.

OUCH ! Hope you have a speedy recovery, Just in time for the recess to be over. Funny you should have this happen sober, I have a lot of damage in my left knee and every now and then for no reason it decides not to hold me up and being 18 stone I dont go down lightly. It has however never happened when I have been drinking which makes one think ;) If you need an emergency bottle of whisky or anything zoomed up give me a shout I am only an hour or so away (purely medicinal of course) Just shout if you need anything.

It's too easily done, especially with a boisterous dog. A lady in our extended family was walking her golden retriever puppy on a hill a few years ago when it had a mind to run back down to her - into her legs, to be precise, one of which broke. You will be glad to know, Alan, she suffers no long-term ill effects, although the dog is now older and arthritic.
